The weight of the world full colour - Madame Petit

A figure in a pale shift stands with her back to the viewer in a field of yellow and ochre, her dark hair gathered at the neck. Across her shoulders she carries a wide load: a cluster of small coloured discs to the right, and sweeping strokes of green, yellow and red rising to the left. Dots of red, green and blue are scattered over the ground around her.

Painted in oils on canvas with broad, visible strokes and the figure left small against the warm ground. Madame Petit is the work of Shjazz, a visual artist, jazz vocalist, poet and drama educator based in Groningen, who works with oils, acrylics, photography and mixed media on themes of identity, growth and freedom. Available as a poster or fine art canvas print in multiple sizes.
