The Artist
Swedish, 38 year old artist. I started painting in 2013 while staying at a treatment center for my OCD (obsessive-compulsive disorder), and the creative process has been incredibly important to me ever since. Color, pattern, and simple shapes are what matter most to me—colors that vie for space, clashing and repelling one another yet somehow blending together. Colors that "shouldn't go together" transform into something soothing. I am always drawn to combining peaceful, cozy subjects with loud patterns and colors. I draw inspiration from artists like Matisse and Frida Kahlo. My art is a blend of naivism and expressionism.

A dark-haired woman in a pink and yellow dress stands in a room with green and pink striped walls, holding a cup of coffee on a saucer. Behind her a window looks out on a bare tree and spring grass, a grey cat sits on the sill beside a vase of red flowers, and a blue staircase runs up to the left past two framed pictures. Cut-out text across the picture reads: may the coffee kick in before reality does.
Painted by hand in flat colour with black outlines. Camilla Nilsson is a Swedish artist working between naivism and expressionism, drawn to clashing colour, pattern and simple shapes, with Matisse and Frida Kahlo as touchstones. Available as a poster or fine art canvas print in multiple sizes.

Absolutely wonderful to deal with, from buying to receiving. I highly recommend.
I was very excited to see this image as it has the same feel of an original piece of work Mariam produced a couple of years ago. Sadly I was too late to buy the original piece! The quality of this print is far superior to any other print I have purchased and look forward to finding the perfect place to display this beautiful picture in my home.
I bought this as a gift for a friend. She absolutely loved it!
